How To Set Up A Great Facebook Business Page In 10 Minutes Or Less
“In this video we will create a Facebook business page which will be used to promote your newsfeed ads.
Go to Facebook.com and scroll all the way down where it says Create Page. Click on it and you’ll be taken to a page that looks like this. Facebook wants you to pick a category that your page will be about.
For the purpose of this video I’ll go ahead and choose let’s say Brand or Product and from the dropdown menu I’ll choose clothing and for the name of this page I’ll go with Cute Clothes. Choose the best name for your facebook fan page as this is the most basic step when it comes to optimizing your brand on Facebook, and is also the most important. Hit the Get Started button and on the next page FB wants a bit more information about your business so we’ll add a description here. Now, this is another place where you can add your keywords to optimize your Facebook page.
To optimize your page for local searches, it is very important to include your Address, City, State, and Zip. Then, enter your website address and then you’ll see that facebook is actually giving you a customized web address so choose wisely since this address cannot be changed once chosen and also URLs are heavily weighted by search engines, it is vital that your fan page URL reflects an aspect of your business. If you find that another fan page has claimed your business’ name already, make sure to include what your business is about in the URL.
Then go ahead and check “no” if you’re not a real business or product or brand or yes if you’re a real business and again yes if it applies to you. Save info.
On the next page you’ll need to upload a profile picture and you can upload your logo and it needs to be square and at least 160 pixels x160. Hit next, and then add to your favorites if you feel like, then I’m going to like my page here, then again, you can invite people to like your page if you want. I’m gonna hit next and I;m going to upload a cover for my page from my computer and we’re done.
Here are some great resources to help you edit your Facebook photos, make custom tabs, schedule and design your posts:
First one is Pagemodo.com, and this the one I used to create the logo and the cover I used in this video. Then another one is Canva.com, this is actually a dashboard shot so you see how much social media help you can get here as well and another one is Picmonkey.com, a great photo editor.
They all have free versions that you can use and you can always to the paid versions if you feel like. ”
